Ten years after her last world title, Canary Islands rider Alexandra Rinder has once again conquered the world of bodyboarding. The athlete from Las Palmas de Gran Canaria was crowned world champion for the third time at the ArcelorMittal Wahine Bodyboarding Pro 2025 in Brazil, closing a decade marked by perseverance, consistency, and personal growth.
At just 16 years old, Rinder stunned the world by becoming the youngest world champion in the history of bodyboarding. She repeated the feat in 2015, but the following years were not easy, results didn’t come, pressure mounted, and doubts began to surface. Still, Alexandra never gave up.
“I fought for 10 years to get back to the top. Life isn’t easy for anyone, but I learned that when you fall, you can get up again and come back stronger,” she wrote after her victory.
That sentence perfectly captures her journey a story of perseverance, self-discovery, and unwavering love for her sport.
Over the past decade, the Canary Islander has worked not only on her technique but also on her mental health and emotional balance. She returned to simple routines, reconnected with her roots, and learned to enjoy the process rather than focus solely on results. “I started to be grateful for what I was living, without thinking only about winning,” she shared recently.
Her return to the top is more than just a sporting achievement, it’s a lesson in resilience. Alexandra Rinder proves that dreams may take time, but consistency, passion, and faith in yourself will always make the difference.
Today, at 27, the three-time world champion stands as a symbol of Canary Islands bodyboarding and an inspiration to an entire generation. Because in sport and in life as she says, “Good things take time.”
